Board Chairman of Naftogaz Ukrainy Andriy Kobolev said that gas stocks at Ukrainian underground storage facilities total almost 14 billion cubic meters, and the volumes of its purchase in Europe in the reverse mode amount to 16 million cubic meters.
«We have time and we see the possibility of setting the issue, at least until December,» Kobolev said.
The top managers of the energy sector also said that there are large prospects for increasing reverse gas purchases, which price today cost around $300 per 1,000 cubic meters, and there is a potential opportunity of buying gas by European companies on the border of Russia and Ukraine, with the gas being pumped to Ukrainian underground storage facilities.
