Ukraine avoids default, Yatseniuk says

The Ukrainian government has managed to avoid bankruptcy of the state, NRCU reports as quoting the Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk speaking in the Verkhovna Rada in his report on the first 100 days of his Cabinet.
«We have managed to avoid a default, or more simply - the bankruptcy of the state. All social payments, all pensions and wages, all social standards under the applicable law, the state budget, are paid,» the Governmental portal quoted Yatseniuk as saying. The prime minister recalled that Ukraine has received financial assistance from Western partners, in particular, renewed cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, received assistance from the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the governments of the United States, Canada, Japan, a macro-financial assistance from the European Union. «It has enabled Ukraine to continue to pay people, not to declare a default and not to fall into an economic abyss, from which we have to go out not for years but decades,» Yatseniuk said.
