WHO: Governments encouraged to promote adolescent health
14.05.2014 12:32 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Governments around the world are being encouraged to take action to promote health amongst young people, UN Radio says.
The call comes in a report published by the World Health Organization (WHO) on Wednesday called «Health for the worlds adolescents.»
The report covers a range of issues that concern young people between the ages of 10 and 19 years old, including nutrition and exercise, violence and injury.
It also tackles tobacco, alcohol and drug use as well as mental health issues.
WHO says the report demonstrates the importance of being healthy during the adolescent years.
The UN agency says it hopes governments and individuals will be motivated to take action to advance health services for young people.
