Ukrainian Prime Minister Arsenii Yatseniuk meets with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in New York

As to Government Portal, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arsenii Yatseniuk met with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon immediately after the meeting of the Security Council of the United Nations in New York.
The Secretary-General focused on mobilizing the UN’ efforts personally to resolve the crisis that arose in connection with the military intervention of Russia into Crimea, in particular, by sending his special representative to Ukraine.
During the meeting, Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed that the deterioration of the situation in the Crimea is a threat to the entire architecture of peace and security in the world; the Russia by its actions undermine principles and rules laid down in the UN Charter.
However, Arsenii Yatseniuk said that there is still a possibility for a peaceful solution of the crisis.
Ukrainian side, consistently demonstrating its readiness for most practical cooperation with the world community and in particular with the United Nations, has informed the Secretary-General on invitation of the UN observer mission to monitor compliance with regard to the rights of all citizens of the country in which foreign troops illegally stay.
The parties agreed to continue maintaining constant contact.
