Too early to speak about sum of IMF aid to Ukraine, says IMF managing director
04.03.2014 11:49 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Any discussions about the volume of potential international aid to Ukraine is premature, NRCU reports quoting Christine Lagarde, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
In meanwhile, the IMF is sending a mission to Ukraine this week. It will be headed by the deputy head of the department of the IMF European Department, Nikolay Gueorguiev, who since June 4 last year has been IMF Mission Chief for Ukraine.
Earlier, the IMF official representative Gerry Rice had said that preliminary discussions about the possibility of providing Ukraine with fiscal aid involved foreign ministers from Britain and Germany, while IMF Director Christine Lagarde discussed the issue with the finance ministers of the G-20 member states, including Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.
