27.02.2014 13:39 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Ukraine’s deposed president Viktor Yanukovych has been granted security by the Russian authorities, NRCU says referring to the Russian government source report to Interfax.
«Considering that President Yanukovych has appealed to the Russian authorities to ensure his personal security, I am informing you that this request has been granted on the territory of the Russian Federation,» Interfax says.
Yanukovych, the Interfax admits, has asked the Russian authorities to ensure his personal security. «Threats of reprisals are coming to me and my associates. I have to ask the authorities of the Russian Federation to ensure my personal security from extremists’ actions,» Yanukovych said in a statement obtained by Interfax on Thursday. Ukrainian opposition declared him earlier as self-removed from power following recent events in Ukraine. He has been named among suspects in mass murder of civilians during violent clashes in downtown Kyiv that left 82 dead. Yanukovych has also made an address to the people of Ukraine to declare that he still considers himself the legitimately elected president of Ukraine.
