Yekhanurov commissioned Ministry of Economics to examine milk purchase prices introduction expediency

Speaking on Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov has charged Ministry of Economics to study expediency of milk minimal purchase prices establishing.
Minimal milk purchase prices introduction initiative was launched within Cabinet
meeting by Oleksandr Baranivskiy, Minister of Agrarian Policy.
Baranivskiy declared presently some Ukrainian dairy producers, making use of RF having banned Ukrainian meat/dairy products import, have sharply lowered milk purchase prices.
Baranivskiy admitted dairy products market prices regulation is stipulated by Law «About Milk and Dairy Products».
As earlier reported, Ministry of Agrarian Policy had proposed Cabinet to establish minimal milk purchase price UAH1.35/l. Dairy plants are probable to decline milk purchase prices from UAH1.21.3/l down to UAH0.8/l since next week if prohibition on Ukrainian dairy products import to RF isn’t cancelled.
