Putin: Russia helps Ukraine as brotherly nation
19.12.2013 16:28 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
While speaking at a press conference on Thursday and commenting on the agreements signed with Ukraines President Viktor Yanukovych, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russias decision to provide substantial economic assistance to Ukraine was dictated exclusively by Ukraines difficult financial and political situation, NRCU reports.
«I tell you without any sarcasm: we often hear phrases like brotherly country or brotherly nation, and we see today that Ukraine is in dire straits economically, socially, and politically. If it really is a brotherly nation, we should act as its close relative and support it,» Putin said.
