As to Government Portal, during the session of the Government held on November 27, 2013 Prime Minister Mykola Azarov called on people who had got outside to support European integration course not to yield to provocations, not to support attempts to destabilize the situation in Ukraine since in order to sign the Agreement on Association and FTA with the EU it is necessary that the country be united, stable and strong.
«Our citizens must realize: exaggerating the situation is working against Ukraine, weakens our positions in negotiations. The one who wants to destabilize the situation is working against European choice. So that to conclude the successful Agreement on Association and Free Trade Area, solve economic problems with the eastern partners, Ukraine must be united and stable. Powerful, as the President said yesterday,» Mykola Azarov stressed and added that the Government guarantees furthering the course of Ukraine on the way of European integration for the benefit of our people.
Moreover, Mykola Azarov emphasized that he understood perfectly and shared disappointment of citizens that Eurointegration plans had not realized into reality this day. According to him, 90 percent of those who got out to manifestations are the citizens who have supported the policy of the President and the Government towards Eurointegration for three years.
«Through the time these citizens have been strengthening and continue to strengthen our conviction that we are carrying out the right course,» Mykola Azarov stressed and assured the course towards Eurointegration remained unchangeable.
He also aired pity that certain opposition politicians didn’t leave attempts to transfer peaceful declaration of will into a «face-off» collision.
«Such attempts must be clamped down without hesitations. It is for the benefit of the overwhelming majority of our citizens - both those who got outside as well as those who live and work next to the places of mass rallies,» Mykola Azarov said.
