Ukraine intends to provide citizens with biofuel

Ukraine is ready to provide up to 80% of the population needs in biofuel, Ukrainian energy and coal industry minister Eduard Stavytsky told a briefing in the Ukrainian Cabinet, ForUm ForUm correspondent reports.
«Since January, the law will come into effect on 5% bio-component content in petrol. We are holding talks, and before the end of November we will determine whether we have a transition period or decide to follow the law adopted by the Parliament. We are ready to provide the country with its own bioethanol production by 7080% of the needs of population,» Stavytsky said.
He noted that some experts predicted smaller number at the level of 5060%. «We will find a consensus to use the program of import substitution, that is, to use the products that we produce in our country,» he said.
