In October grain export volumes to exceed 3 mln tons
28.10.2013 17:29 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Ukraine is approaching maximum speed of shipment of grain - over 3 million tons. Such dynamics will ensure export of planned 30 million tons of grain by the end of marketing year. Overall from early July the agrarians have sold abroad 8.9 mln tons of grain. And it is almost by 8% more than last year, Government Portal says referring to Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhniuk.
«Volumes of export of national grain crops will reach the peak soon owing to the well coordinated work of all participant of the grain market. So, by the end of October pace of supplies of grain crops will make up over 3 million tons a month. At this, the highest speed is expected in the following months. At the same time, such dynamics of export will secure implementation of a forecast of grain supplies in the amount of 30 million tons,» the Minister noted.
According to Mykola Prysyazhniuk, from the start of the marketing year Ukraine has already sold abroad 8.9 mln tons of grain. And it is almost by 8% more than last year over the analogous period. Now in Ukrainian ports there are vessels with a capacity of over 800 thousand tons which are loaded with over 350 thousand tons.
«We continue cooperation with all players on grain market in order to maximally coordinate their work. And it is necessary to strengthen positions of Ukraine on the foreign market. However, under conditions of further growth of yield and respectively export volumes, it is necessary to increase infrastructure opportunities. That’s why one of the important aspects of the Strategy of the development of agrarian sector up to 2020 is investment into development of grain logistics,» the department chief emphasized.
