A report suggesting the establishment of a macroregion to unite countries of Central and Eastern Europe was presented in Minsk, Belarus Radio reports.
The macroregion is dubbed as New Central Europe. Presenting the report, Yuri Tsarik, one of the report’s developers, head of the expert and analysis community Belarusian Development Group, remarked that the document is meant to enable prerequisites for implementing the idea voiced by the Belarus president concerning European and Eurasian integration.
The report suggests that countries of Central and Eastern Europe should focus on implementing major investment projects for the sake of the joint development of the countries. «It is necessary to focus on joint development. Instead of dividing existing assets it is necessary to create new ones. Without pushing for political agenda but with focusing on individual investment projects the approach will allow working out legal conditions to implement the idea of super integration for the benefit of the Customs Union, the Single Economic Space, and the European Union,» believes Yuri Tsarik.
He specified that the report outlines areas fit for joint projects. Those are transportation, power engineering, culture and education, and other ones.
