Cabinet plans to buy less than 10 bcm of gas from Russia
12.09.2013 10:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The government plans to reduce purchases of Russian gas to a volume of less than 10 billion cubic meters, energy and coal industry minister of Ukraine Eduard Stavytsky told a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.
«The volume of gas we purchase from our Russian colleagues depends on a fair price. If pricing meets international standards, primarily European ones, the volume will be regulated in terms of increase. If we do not reach a compromise, then we will permanently reduce the volume of purchases. However, we would like to reach an agreement on European conditions,» Stavytsky said.
«We have to 100% diversify the natural gas supplies from one supplier. So we are working on it,» the minister added.
