Azarov: Quick harmonization of trade regime with Customs Union is practical Government's task

The FTA with the EU is as important for the future of Ukraine, as important quick harmonization of trade regimes with the Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. The President of Ukraine drew particular attention on this. This is practical challenge for the Government. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on 4 September 2013, Government Portal reports.
He noted that markets of Ukraine and the Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus are equally important to each other. Suffice it to recall that 60% of Ukrainian export to the Russian Federation is the production of final consumption.
«I’ll not exaggerate when I say that free trade is the main economic value of the modern world. This is why most modern states joined the World Trade Organization. Ukraine fully prepared so that the principles and rules of the WTO to use in all of its trade and economic relations,» Mykola Azarov declared.
According to him, the contradictions that arise must be resolved on the basis of generally accepted international rules and agreements.
