"Green Markets" national project to develop agribusiness logistics

The national project «Green Markets» will contribute to the development of agribusiness logistics, director of the national projects department of the State Agency for Investment and National Projects Yuri Husev told a roundtable, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to the official, the supported logistic chain will involve growing of agricultural production, its storage, processing and delivery to customers, i.e. a full market cycle.
The expert noted that implementation of the project will allow, in particular, reorganizing retail sale of agrarian products, reducing its cost, choosing the best options for its delivery to customers, and thus improving food supply of the population. The cost of the project is four billion UAH.
Husev added that in spring the company «Kimoniks International», which implements in Ukraine «Project USAID AgroInvest» a technical assistance project funded by USAID, has announced a competition to develop preliminary pre-feasibility study on the «Green Markets». According to the results, developer of feasibility study became the company «NIRAS Ukraine».
«10 specific pilot subprojects will be identified within the feasibility study. August 12, the second stage of feasibility study was completed,» the expert said.
