Ukraine to be among top corn exporters

Ukraine plans to occupy 2nd place in the world in terms of grain exports after the U.S in the current marketing year, agricultural policy and food minister of Ukraine Mykola Prysiazhniuk announced, ForUm reports.
«The current marketing year forecast for world grain trade is 286 million tons. A significant share belongs to Ukraine, which will retain its leading position in the international grain market. In general, we are expected to enter the top 5 leading world exporters of grain,» Prysiazhniuk said.
The minister said that Ukraine takes the third position on corn export, 4th - barley export, and 6th - wheat export.
«As for the main grain importers, East Asia plans to buy 60 million tons this year, the Middle East - 40 million tons, North Africa - 33 million tons. The markets of these regions are very attractive to us, and we will develop cooperation with them,» minister added.
