Ukraine counts on WB support for new investment projects

The Ukrainian Economic Development Ministry agreed with the World Bank to expand its portfolio of projects, ForUm reports.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between economic development and trade minister of Ukraine Ihor Prasolova with World Bank Director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, Europe and Central Asia, Mr. Fang Qimiao.
According to the minister, currently operating portfolio in Ukraine corresponds to the priorities of the state policy for the modernization of the real sector of the economy.
At the same time, he said that in 20132014 Ukraine counts on the support of the World Bank in the preparation of new investment projects to improve the health system and the delivery of social services, upgrading of municipal, transportation and energy infrastructure.
Prasolov noted that this year the Ukrainian side has already initiated the preparation of the «Second City Infrastructure Development Project», the Health Ministry is preparing a package of documents on the «Draft reform of the regional health system of Ukraine.» In addition, the Regional Development Ministry is finalizing a package of documents for the initiation of the project «Improving energy efficiency in the district heating sector of Ukraine.» Also in the pipeline are: «The Second Power Transmission Project» and «Second project to improve the social assistance system.»
