Mykola Azarov: Advanced technology should be the basis of Ukraine's economy

03.04.2013 12:38 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said that the State program of activation of the development of economy of Ukraine for 2013–2014 aims to promote the use of advanced technologies in the fields of economy. He said this during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on April 3, 2013, Government Portal reports. «We are not dreaming about the European level of production. We already have it in certain sectors and regions. The main thing that advanced technologies will be not just individual examples, but the backbone of the economy of Ukraine. And the State program of activation of the development of economy of Ukraine is aimed on this,» the head of the Government said. Mykola Azarov noted that by the results of the official visit to the Republic of Hungary, he was convinced that «much of what European manufacturers are strong have already in Ukraine. We have not theoretical potential but practical competitive advantages.» He cited the example of the best Hungarian milk-commercial complex, with modern equipment, automated care of the cattle, with stable milk yields. «But I am proud to mention that the same breeding complexes in the last two years have been built in Ukraine. So, in some of this days in the Volnaya village of Kyiv Region at the Terezino farm which I visited last year, a new line of milky-commercial complex was opened. Here milking is done by fully robotic milking system,» Mykola Azarov said. The Prime Minister also gave an analogy with pleasure in the pharmaceutical industry. In Hungary, the Ukrainian delegation visited the Gedeon Richter pharmaceutical manufacturing company with a worldwide reputation, which is making huge investments in the development of drugs, improving technology. «It’s also nice to note that the companies of the same class are already operated in Ukraine.The same equipment, the same production - in terms of technologies and drugs - I’ve seen, for example, atthe Darnitsa pharmaceutical company. Advanced research and development, we also have,» Mykola Azarovsaid. Besides, the Prime Minister also reported about his having had visited a biological treatment facility of waste water in Hungary. «It is extremely effective and environmentally friendly solution for municipalities and districts. Now, such technology we run in Ukraine,» Mykola Azarov said, adding that the biological treatment facility opened last year in the Crimea. They work also in Luhansk and Donetsk Regions.
