In the 2019/2020 port NIKA-TERA handled 6.4 million tons of agricultural cargo

As member of Group DF companies SSP NIKA-TERA Ltd handled 6.4 million tons of agricultural cargo in Marketing Year (MR) 2019/20 (July 1, 2019 June 30, 2020), which exceeds the figures of MY 2018/19 by 20%. The growth was due to an increase in the transshipment of barley (+ 141%), wheat (+ 51%) and sunflower meal (+ 42%). During that period, the port also began to work with rapeseed. In the structure of grains transshipment, the main volume remained traditionally with wheat and corn. «We have improved the top-off technology for cargo transshipment on Panamax type vessels on roads in MY 2019/20. Out of 26 Panamax type vessels, which called to our port, 20 vessels have been successfully topped-off on roads. In addition to grains and sunflower meal, we have also carried out for the first time transshipment of sunflower oil on roads,» commented Harbormaster of «SSP Nika-Tera» Alim Agakishiev. In total, in the MY 2019/20, the port handled 263 vessels loading them with grains, leguminous and oilseed cargoes, as well as products of their processing. At the same time, the number of handled Panamax type vessels increased by more than 3 times compared to the former period. In Ukraine MY for cereal crops is the period between July of the current year and June of the next year, i.e. MY 2019/20 stands for the timespan between July 1,2019 and June 30, 2020. End of May 2020, NIKA-TERA port completed the next stage of cargo district #2 upgrading, for storage and transshipment of agricultural cargoes. In particular, the construction of a modern mooring and weight complex was completed, consisting of two technological lines. The maximum productivity of each line reaches up to 1800 m3/hour. The port consists of four cargo district: a grain facility, a transshipment complex for leguminous and oilseed plants, an open storage facility for bulk and break bulk cargoes and separate liquid cargoes district. SSP NIKA-TERA Ltd (Nikolaev, Ukraine) a modern highly mechanized seaport that is part of the Group DF business. The port is located in the Nikolaev region near the Black Sea (on the left bank of the Bug estuary) and has 8 commercial berths with a length of about 1900 meters. The port territory borders on the Zhovtneva railway station, which provides convenient logistics for port counterpartys. Since the fall of 2011, the terminal has become part of the Group DF, which since 2011 has invested in the development of the port more than 1.5 billion hryvnias. Investments allowed the company to significantly increase its capacity: the grain storage from 40 to 300 thousand tons. Currently, the capacity has increased up to 515 thousand tons. The largest investment projects have become the construction of a modern silo-type granary, the construction of its own railway facility, the launch of a transshipment complex for liquid cargo, an increase in the mooring front, as well as the constant expansion and modernization of the technical park and warehouse facilities of the enterprise. In 2019, 410 vessels called to port, handling 8.637 million tons of cargo. Compared to 2018, the increase amounted to 2.8 million tons or 48%. The total number of employees is about 1300 people.NIKA-TERA is a modern transport and logistics hub, combining various hydraulic structures, hoisting mechanisms for cargo loading, infrastructure facilities, various types of transport and the railway complex, which make us competitive with the largest ports of the country.
