As of last week, the measures to support the domestic beekeeping proposed by the RF Agriculture Ministry were approved by the RF Government, the RF Agriculture Ministry reports.
As to the report, RF Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Gordeyev noted the importance of improving the effectiveness of legislative measures aimed at protecting of the interests of domestic beekeepers and other agricultural producers, as well as consumers of beekeeping products.
As to Gordeyev, as of this year, within some RF regions there have been cases of large-scale bees’ death. Thus, as of end Jul, there were about 40,000 perished bee colonies (about 1.5% of their total RF number).
As to the report, Gordeyev offered to take not only urgent measures to correct the current situation, but also to adopt measures for the future, that is to change the RF current regulatory policy of the domestic beekeeping industry development and preventing similar situations within the future.
Thus, in part., Gordeyev instructed the Agriculture Ministry to submit a report to the Government with proposals on working out a methodology to create a unified register of beekeepers (by registering passports of apiaries, by working out the procedure for informing beekeepers and other interested parties about the use of pesticides and agrochemicals within fields) as well as proposals to raise the penalties for failure to comply with pesticides’ use regulations.
