Pilot network of energy-efficient bakeries created within Ukraine

As of today, the chieves of 12 bakeries from different Ukrainian regions have signed a memorandum within Kyiv, Ukrinform reports.
It is to be admitted, creating such industrial companies’ units as the Network of Energy Efficient Bakers is to help reducing the CO2 atmosphere emissions, as well as reduce the domestic companies’ expenses for the energy sources and, consequently, boost the companies’ profits.
«Our task is by boosting the tax for the CO2 emissions to make the domestic business less consume energy resources. As of now, this tax within Ukraine is the lowest within in the world. Thus, for example, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Sweden have a tax EUR30120 for the emission of one ton of CO2. However, within Ukraine it is just 10 cents,» Serghiy Savchuk, Head of the Ukrainian State Department of Energy Efficiency, said while commenting on the memorandum signing.
As to him, the Energy Efficiency Department is going to redistribute the money received from the boosted emissions’ tax to finance domestic projects aimed at energy efficiency growth within the domestic bakery industry.
