Ukraine, Netherlands working on bioenergy cost-effective projects implementation

27.11.2018 15:18 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of last week, a specialized workshop on implementation of the bioenergy projects promising for the Ukrainian and Dutch business was held within Kyiv, Government Portal reports. As to the report, the workshop was organized by the Netherlands Consortium «Partners within Business Biobased Energy Ukraine» (PIB), the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands within Ukraine, the Ukrainian State Agency for Energy Efficiency and other companies. As to the report, Serghiy Savchuk, Chairman of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency, has told that the bioenergy projects have been stronhlu supported by the two current legislative norms: 1) stimulative tariff for the heat produced from the sources other that the natural gas; 2) «green tariff» for the electricity (12.4 eurocents / kWh) produced from biomass and biogas. «From the point of view of the necessary energy sources’ availability, Ukraine, thanks to its being a modern agricultural country, has a huge potential. By using only the agrarian waste, it is potentially possible to substitute over 9 milliard cubic meters of the natural gas,» Savchuk stressed. «I am ceratin that the participation of the Dutch companies, investments and technologies within our domestic market will allow us to realize profitable projects targeted at substitution of the natural gas for our country benefit,» he summed up.
