Nibulon to make watermelons several shipments along Dnieper

JV Nibulon Ltd, one of the Ukrainian biggest grains traders, is going to make a number of watermelon-loaded vessels’ flights along the Dnieper river to Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine says referring the Nibulon report.
«This year we are going to make a number of shipments, and this is not the only feature of this season. It is to be admitted, that, firstly, the last year shipment along the Dnieper amounted to about 300 tons of watermelons, while this year first batch is about 500 tons, including not only the watermelons, but also the Ukrainian melons. Secondly, the last year river shipment lasted over 4 days, while this year — not over 3 days. So, now we are getting ready for the next shipment already. If the weather is favorable, this shipment will be followed by the next ones,» the report runs.
It is to be admitted, the watermelons were loaded unto the vessel within the Gola Prystan river port terminal, unloaded — within the Pereyaslav-Khmelnitskiy terminal, and from there the watermelons have been brought by trucks to Kyiv. In this case, the shipment cost is just UAH0.87–0.90 per 1 watermelon (what is down UAH0.10 against the shipment cost if the transportation is made by truck from Gola Pristan to Kyiv.
It is to be admitted, JV Nibulon Ltd was created as of 1991. It is one of the Ukrainian grains market largest operators. It has elevators’ facilities with a total capacity of about 2 million tons, as well as a transshipment terminal within Mykolayiv with a capacity of 5 million tons. Besides, it has also 11 river reloading terminals on the Dnieper and the Southern Bug and 67 vessels’ fleet.
