Groisman about decentralization process: It is high time for political responsibility

22.05.2017 09:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of last week, while on a trip to Vinnytsia, and speaking within solemn events on the occasion of 10th anniversary of Europe Day, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman said the decentralization process launched three years ago had already enabled local budgets to possess sufficient resources and, at the same time, had given responsibilities to local authorities that should effectively use tools offered by the Government. «I know a lot of examples where decentralization reform is being implemented however results are not achieved, said the Prime Minister. Local authorities should be responsible for this process. Not to this end we launched the decentralization process so that local governance didn’t do anything at all, and there are such cases. However, where is the owner, where is a blueprint concerning the development of society, there will be a result. Vinnytsia has showed such result,» Groisman noted. He emphasized that the time has come to get rid of the populists in politics at all levels. «We have to show the populists that they are unwelcomed guests in politics, said Groisman. — It’s time for responsible politicians. In our country, there are all necessary opportunities to achieve this target».
