2009 potatoes crop grew by 0.8%, up to 19.696 mn MT

In 2009 agrarians have harvested 19.696 mn MT potatoes, up 151,000 MT (+ 0.8%) against 2008, reported State Statistics Committee referring to 2009 main agricultural crops harvesting results.
As to Committee, 2009 potatoes average yield was 139,5 metric centners per ha (up as of 138,7 metric centners per ha in 2008); potatoes were harvested at 1,411.800 ha (up against 1,408.900 ha in 2008).
As to Agro Perspective earlier report, in 2008 agrarians harvested 19.545 mn MT potatoes, up 443,000 MT (+ 2.3%) as of 2007.
As to Agro Perspective, in 2007 agrarians had harvested 19.102 mn MT potatoes, down 364,800 MT (- 1.9%) as of 2006.
