RF wheat crop to hit 78 million tons

25.09.2019 23:21 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — While speaking within the «government hour» at the State Duma, RF Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev has said the country 2019 wheat output will total 78 million tons, RF Ministry of Agriculture reports. «This year grains’ toal output is expected 118 million tons, that is, almost 5 times up against 2018; as to experts, wheat crop is to boost significantly — up to 78 million tons. But not only the wheat crop rates have grown this year: thus, the experts affirm this year wheat is highly qualitative. Firstly since 2012, 1 class wheat (that is, the highest class) has appeared,» Patrushev admitted. It is to be noted, as of this year Sept 23, the RF agrarians have harvested 72.1 million tons wheat at 24.6 million ha (87.6% total planned areas to be harvested at). It is to be reminded, as of last year similar, the RF agrarians had harvested 64.5 million tons wheat at 21.4 million ha, average yield — 29.3 metric centners per ha. The RF 2018 wheat crop was 72.36 million tons.
