Ukrainian sugar output up 6,5%
21.02.2018 09:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As to Ruslana Butylo, Ukrsugar (Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers) analytical Department Head, within MY 2017/2018, Ukraine has produced 2.14 million tons sugar (up 6,5% against the previous MY 2.01 million tons).
As to her, sugar output growth is due to domestic beet grown area enlarging and 4 more sugar refineries’ launch.
«The sugar output season is completed. 46 sugar refineries have produced 2,14 million tons of sugar, up 6,5% against last season. It should be noted that the sugar output boost could be even greater, however, weather conditions during the growing season did not contribute to the increase in the sugar beet yield. As a result, we have lower indicators of sugar content and sugar output», Butylo says.
As to the report, Vinnytsia region remains as earlier the Ukrainian sugar output leader, having produced 445,600 tons sugar. Khmelnytsk region took the second position ( 290,200 tons), while Ternopil region took the third position (283,500 tons).
