Ukraine has received another batch of 75,000 tonnes of anthracite coal from South Africa, which will ensure the uninterrupted operation of Chernihiv and Darnytsia heat and power plants (CHPPs) amid the forthcoming heating season, according to Ukrainian media, UNIAN reports.
As to the report, Darnytsia CHPP of Evro-Rekonstruktsia LLC and Chernihiv CHPP of TehNova LLC will provide 300,000 residents of Kyiv’s Darnytsia and Dniprovsky districts, as well as 135,000 residents of the city of Chernihiv with heat and hot water.
«Coal from South Africa is of high quality, has low ash content and high caloric value, which will reduce consumption of coal and, accordingly, ash and slag,» Director of Evro-Rekonstruktsia LLC Vyacheslav Selivanov said.
As to him, the next shipment is scheduled for the end of this year. Moreover, there will be enough fuel for an uninterrupted supply of heat and hot water throughout the heating season.
«I can reassure consumers we will smoothly pass the forthcoming heating season, as well as the autumn and winter peak loads,» Selivanov assured.
It is to be admitted, the company is confident that the shipments of anthracite coal from South Africa confirms that the two CHPPs will continue to operate, providing heat to households and kindergartens.
