Groisman: Ukraine favors applying Israeli technologies within agricultural sector
16.05.2017 15:44 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of today, while meeting with Head of the Israeli part of the Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation Zeev Elkin, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman said Ukraine is ready to to develop full-scale cooperation with Israel within the agricultural sector - as one of the leading sectors for the Ukrainian economy and to engage Israeli technologies into the agricultural output, Government Portal reports.
As to the report, the meeting took place as part of the Ukrainian Prime Minister official visit to Israel.
As to Groisman, the agrosector is of paramount importance for the two countries as well as the Agreement on free trade area will provide a significant impetus for deeper cooperation which is now the subject of negotiations between Israel and Ukraine. Thus, the Prime Minister called on Israeli side to consider possibilities for liberalization of access of agricultural products and restoration of Ukrainian exports of table eggs to the Israel market.
Besides, Groisman stressed the readiness of official Kyiv to ensure food security of Israel on a long term basis and to create conditions for leverage investment flows into the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
«We are interested in Israeli technologies within agricultural industry. Our main objective is to replace economy dependent on raw materials and we are more than willing to support the business,» the PM assured.
As to the report, Groisman emphasized that Israel is one of the principal trading partners of Ukraine in the region and praised the volume of the trade turnover between two countries. As to Groisman, he is convinced that the work of the Joint Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation as well as the Ukrainian Government efforts towards improvement of investment climate, implementation of reforms and boosting economic ties between Israel and Ukraine on a wide range of issues will stimulate trade turnover indicators’ boost.
