The Cabinet of the Ministers of Ukraine is going to make arrangement with European Comission about 3 Mln.MT grain quota
The Cabinet of the Ministers of Ukraine is going to make arrangement with European Commission about granting to Ukraine the quota for grain import of the volume not less than 3 Mln.MT in Europe in 2003. According to the words of the vice-prime minister of the questions of agro-industrial complex Leonida Kozachenko, on November 18 the Ukrainian experts will depart to the negotiation with representatives of European Comission concerning the ukrainian grain import to the EU. As he said, there will be the following main arguments, which should convince European Comission of expediency of the granting of 3 Mln.MT of grain quota to Ukraine: the grain export level of 3 Mln.MT at the markets of European countries in 2001/2002 marketing year, necessity to square accounts with the european companies for the material resources used by ukrainian agricultural producers and also the tradition of Ukrainian foodstuffs export to the european countries. At the same time, the Cabinet of the Ministers of Ukraine is informed about intention of European Comission since January 1, 2003 to establish the quota of grain import at the level of 2.98 Mln.MT, from which 572 Ths.MT is submitted to USA and 38 Ths.MT to Canada.
