Nufarm and Agrauxine announce strategic partnership to launch innovative bio fungicide Nuxine

11.07.2025 08:26 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Nufarm, a global crop protection and seed technologies company, and Agrauxine by Lesaffre, a pioneer in biosolutions, are pleased to announce the imminent launch of their innovative bio fungicide Nuxine. This partnership, which began as a development partnership in 2020, represents a significant milestone in the development and commercialisation of sustainable agricultural solutions across Europe.

David Colligan, Head of Portfolio Solutions EuMEA at Nufarm, expressed his excitement at the development:

After more than four years of collaboration with Agrauxine, we are delighted to be moving closer to the launch of Nuxine, which marks a significant achievement in our joint journey.»

Nuxine, containing 10.6% of cerevisane (yeast wall extract), is a systemic resistance inducer designed to control foliar fungal diseases in major arable crops. Targeting crops such as oilseed rape, potatoes and sugar beet, Nuxine effectively controls key challenges such as Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Phytophthora infestans and Cercospora beticola.

Pauline Berger, Biocontrol Product Manager at Agrauxine, highlighted the success of the collaboration:

Nuxine is expected to fill a critical gap in the market caused by increasing restrictions on chemical crop protection products. Its SC formulation ensures ease of use in tank-mixes with conventional crop protection products (CPPs) and offers excellent compatibility and shelf-life without the problems associated with living organisms.

Key benefits of Nuxine:

• Innovative Bio fungicide: Nuxine combines the strengths of Nufarm and Agrauxine expertise to

provide a novel solution for disease management in arable crops.

• Resistance management: As a non-leaving organism with no resistance development, Nuxine acts as

a resistance breaker, extending the efficacy of resistant crop varieties.

• Sustainable agriculture: In line with the EU sustainability goals and Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

regulations, Nuxine helps growers reduce reliance on chemical inputs while maintaining crop health

and yield.

• Versatility: Nuxine can be used alone or in combination with CPPs, allowing reduced CPP rates while

maintaining efficacy.

The first commercial launch of Nuxine is expected in the UK in 2025, followed by launches in Benelux, Germany, Austria, Poland and the Czech Republic. Nufarm will have exclusive rights to Nuxine in North-West Europe, Central-East Europe and the Nordics, covering a broad territory including major agricultural markets such as Germany, the UK, Ireland, Poland and the Nordic countries.
