Danilishin: Ukrainian agrosector productivity lags behind developed countries

24.04.2019 23:14 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of this week, while commenting on the Council of the Ukrainian National Bank meeting results, Council Chairman Bogdan Danilishin has written on his Facebook that despite the progress achieved, Ukrainian agricultural productivity so far lags behind developed countries, Ukrinform reports. «Within the medium term, Ukrainian agriculture, which has already become a key economy sector, needs a serious attention. Despite successes, Ukraine still lags behind developed countries in terms of the agricultural labor productivity as a result of deindustrialization of agrarian output, agricultural crops’ yields being not high enough, excessive employment and irrational organization of production,» Danilishin admitted. As to Danilishin, the Ukrainian agriculture current state gives it chances to have strengthened the leading positions which it has already gained on the global market. «By 2050, the Earth population will reach 9 milliard people, and Ukraine is to a key player of the global food security process assuring,» he wrote.
