At Sugar World 2019, Ukrainian sugar producers will discuss their sugar export strategy

As of tomorrow, within the shopping and entertainment centre Terminal (Brovary), the Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers will hold Sugar World 2019, an international congress for sugar beets’ producers and processors,
Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to Ruslana Butylo, Head of Analytical Department of Ukrsugar (Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers), report.
As to the report, within the congress, the sugar producers will discuss their new season output plans and export strategy.
«Due to the leading global experts’ forecasts, the next marketing year will be a deficit one. For the Ukrainian producers, this means they have a chance to boost their export shipments and, while considering the fact that India and Brazil have already started reducing their sugar output, Ukrainian producers can also start competing for the African and Asian sale markets,» Butylo stressed.
As to her, the sugar output technology problems so far remain the main problems of the Ukrainian sugar industry (an effective cultivation of sugar beets, the highest category sugar output, and the long-term planning which would allow to boost the Ukrainian export potential and let the Ukrainian producers get fixed within the world exporters’ ranking).
«Besides, the issue of utilization of the sugar output by-products — molasses and pulp — is also to be paid an attention to, as molasses and pulp output is an excellent possibility to diversify the sugar industry and boost its profitability. The sugar market is a cyclical one, with the domestic sugar consumption declining each year, so establishing bioenergy units at the Ukrainian sugar plants is nothing but a requirement of the modern market,» Butylo admitted.
