Ukraine exhausted Jan quotas for EU duty-free sugar shipments

Ukraine has completely used its tariff quotas for the duty-free sugar shipments to the EU for Jan 2019, Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to Ruslana Butylo, Association Board Deputy Chairman, report.
«As of this year Jan 30, the 20,000 tons tariff quota for the duty-free sugar shipments to the EU was exhausted. This means that this direction remains a priority for the Ukrainian producers, especially given the logistic proximity and the global sugar deficit expected within the next marketing year,» Butylo said.
Besides, she also admitted within this year Jan Ukraine has exported in total 41,000 tons sugar, with main purchasers being Rumania (17% total), Azerbaijan (10%), Italy (9%) and Spain (9%).
