As of this week, while making an annual message to the Parliamnt, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has expressed doubts that a decision to create the land market will be made within the near future, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
«I understand that, unfortunately, there are no chances for a balanced state decision to create, for example, a civilized land market … now it will be difficult to do,» he said.
At the same time, he reminded that the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) recognized a moratorium on the free market circulation of land as violating the rights of Ukrainians.
As to the earlier report, as of Dec 7, 2017, the Verkhovna Rada adopted at second reading bill No. 7350, which extended the moratorium on the sale of agricultural land until Jan 1, 2019. As of Dec 30, 2017, the Ukrainian President signed it.
