German agrarians lost about 70% plants crop due to drought

As of recent, some Germany regions have been struck by a severe drought leading to local agrarians having lost up to 70% of their plants’ crop, Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to the Der Spiegel report.
As to the report, the greatest damage was caused to the German north and east regions; thus, as to the German Farmers Association, some regions agrarians have suffered 50%- 70% plants’ crop loss. Strong damage has been caused to the local potato and sugar beet crops.
As to the German Minister of Agriculture Julia Klekner, about 10,000 farm economies have faced such great losses as to become on the bankruptcy verge. The German Government has, as aid to affected farm economies, decided to allot EUR340 million (incl. EUR170 million to be allotted by the German Federal Government, and the rest by the federal lands).
However, the German Farmers Association affirm the agrarians’ losses can be compensated with at least EUR1 milliard.
