FAO: Ukrainian honey export down

As of this year Jan-Jun, Ukrainian honey export has fallen by 43% against the last year similar, Ukrinform says referring to Ann Burka, the FAO Consultant, Facebook report.
«Within the first half of 2018, Ukrainian honey export declined 43% against the 2017 similar. As of the first half of 2018, Ukrainian honey export totaled almost 17,000 tons (US$37 million),» Burka writes.
As to the FAO 2017 data, Ukraine became one of the world three leading honey exporters. As to the FAO, the largest buyers of the Ukrainian honey were the EU countries (part., Germany, Poland and Belgium) and the USA.
It is to be admitted, within 2018, the EU has boosted quotas for the Ukrainian honey shipments by 200 tons, up to 5,400 tons. As of the last year Oct, the EU also provided Ukraine with additional quota of 2,500 tons. Similar additional quotas are expected to be allocated starting from Oct 1, 2018.
