World Bank, EU introducing Ukrainian five-year land management program

As of this week, the World Bank, with a financial support from the EU, has started implementing a five-year Land Transparency program within Ukraine with a budget of EUR3 million, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
As to the report, as of this week, while signing a memorandum of cooperation between the World Bank, EU and Ukraine, Satu Kahkonen, the World Bank Country Director for Belarus, Moldova, and Ukraine, has said that the program will start from three pilot regions of Ukraine - Kyiv, Lviv and Mykolaiv. As to him, the World Bank is open to a dialogue with other regions in order to expand the coverage of the program, but still the Bank faces some financial limitations.
As to him, to implement the program, the EU and the World Bank have united their resources and created a trust fund to finance Land Transparency.
It is to be admitted, the program is designed for the period from Dec 2017 - Dec 2022. Its beneficiaries are the Ukrainian owners of agricultural land and farmers, as well as the territorial communities, central and local executive authorities.
