Ukrainian Jun sugar export up 25%

Ukrainian this year Jun sugar export has grown to 67,600 tons, up 25% against this year May, Ruslana Butylo, Head of Analytical Department of Ukrsugar (Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers ) reports.
«The sugar was exported mainly to Uzbekistan (51% of the total export) and Libya (35%). Besides, some small lots were directed to Azerbaijan (5%), Armenia (3%) and Georgia (3%),» she said.
As to Butylo, Ukrainian 2017/18 MY (marketing year) Sept-Jun sugar export totals 501,000 tons, down 32% against 2016/2017 similar.
It is to be reminded, Ukrainian this year sugar beet sown areas total 280,000 ha, down 13% against last year.
It is to be admitted, the Association experts forecast that Ukrainian this year sugar beet output will decline to 13.1 million tons, down 10% against last year - and so Ukrainian this year sugar output will be about 1.75 milion tons.
As to Butylo, within this year about 40 sugar plants will be functioning on the Ukrainian domestic sugar market.
