Trofimtseva: Organic agricultural products output development is one of our work priorities
21.06.2018 21:18 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Within this year Jun 2122, an especial double event devoted to the organic output is held within Poltava: that is, a conference «Organic plant growing: best practices within 10 years» and an «Organic Field Day», Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.
The organizers of this event are the Ukrainian producers of the organic agricultural certified products: Private Company Agroecology, Ukroliya LLC, certification body Organik Standard and others. The event was held with the support of the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food .
«Today, Ukraine ranks 11th among the European countries as for the total area of agricultural lands certified as organic. So, within Ukraine, there are almost 290,000 ha organic lands, with over 91,000 ha so far being within a transitional period - but still their total area is below 1% of the Ukrainian total agricultural lands,» Ukrainian Deputy Minister Olga Trofimtseva admitted while speaking to the even participants.
As to her, there are some countries (world leading organic agricultural products’ producers) where the organic lands share 10% of their total agricultural lands.
