Ukrainian May sugar export over 50,000 tons

As of 2017/18 MY (marketing year) May, Ukrainian sugar export has grown to 54,000 tons, up 29% against this MY Apr, Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to Ukrsugar Analytical Department Head Ruslana Butylo report.
«As of May, Uzbekistan has once again remained Ukrainian biggest sugar purchaser: it has purchased 72% total Ukrainian sugar export shipments. Besides, GB has purchased 11%, Azerbaijan - 5%, Moldova - 4%,» Butylo said.
As to her, within 2017/18 MY nine months, Ukraine has exported 433,300 tons sugar (down 36% against last MY similar).
«Within last MY, Ukraine had achieved a record sugar export due to favorable global market conjuncture, but within this MY the market situation has somewhat changed: global sugar offer proficit has grown to 10%. So, do not expect high global sugar prices neither within this MY, nor within the next MY,» she summed up.
