Justice Ministry protects citizens land rights no matter whether land market is open or not

As of this week, while speaking within the 19th Annual Conference «Earth and Poverty: Land Asset Management within an interconnected world» within Washington (organized by the World Bank), Ukrainian Deputy Justice Minister on State Registration Olena Sukmanova said the Justice Ministry is constantly working on citizens land rights protection and should be prepared to do that effectively, regardless of whether the moratorium on the sale of the Ukrainian agricultural land will be prolonged or not, Government Portal reports.
«Today in Ukraine there is a restriction in the form of a moratorium on the agricultural land sale, and it often becomes a subject of political speculation,» she admitted.
As to the report, the Deputy Minister stressed that today the main areas of the State policy within the land relations is boosting the level of the land ownership protection, ensuring an effective interaction between the State registries, decentralizing the State registration functions, filling of the State registers, ensuring the maximum level of technical protection of the registry databases and raising the number of on-line services.
As to the report, Sukmanova also told the conference participants about the State Commission on Complaints Within State Registration Sphere (which is now functioning at the Justice Ministry).
«The high level of protection of property rights is a guarantee of an attractive investment climate. It is exactly to quickly and effectively protect the property rights of citizens and businesses, this Commission (called an ‘Anti Asset-Grabbing Commission’ by Ukrainians) was created,» she said/
She emphasized that the Commission examines a complaint from business or citizen not over 45 days and restores records within its registers as soon as the decision on the complaint is made.
As to her, within 2017, the Commission satisfied over 600 complaints, restoring the rights to 8,500 ha land and 130,000 square meters of immovable assets.
