Winter crops have been fertilized at almost 25% sown areas

19.03.2018 11:13 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) As of this year Mar 16, winter crops continued being fertilized within 21Ukrainian regions; the work has been carried out at 1.8million ha (24% total sown areas), Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports. As to the report, agrarians have fertilized: — winter wheat- at 1.5million ha (23%); — winter rye- at 12,300ha (8%); — winter barley- at 283,000ha (34%). In addition, winter rape has been fertilized at 332,300ha (33%). As to the report, monitoring of winter crops (sown for 2018harvest) shows that the seedlings have appeared at 99.7% of all sown areas (7.3million ha), with 87% (6.3million ha) being in good/satisfactory condition, while seedlings condition at 13% (931,000ha) sown areas is weak/rare. As to the report, seedlings have not appeared at 0.3% (25,200ha) total sown areas. Reportedly, winter rape was sown at 1.0million ha, seedlings have appeared at 98.6% all total area, with 89% (886,800ha) being in good/satisfactory condition, while seedlings condition at 11% (108,000ha) sown areas is weak/rare. Winter rape seedlings have perished at 1,000ha. As to the report, the Ukrainian winter crops further state will depend on the weather conditions.
