Agrarian Ministry, grains market participants specified 2017/2018 MY grains export volume

As of today, a meeting of the working group on the functioning of the Ukrainian grains market was held with participation of Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Viktor Sheremeta, representatives of the Ministry, the Ukrainian State Committee for Consumer Goods, grains exporters and profile associations, Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.
As to the report, within the meeting the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food representatives and the grains market participants have (within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry and business entities) specified the volume of the grains to be exported within 2017/2018 MY.
«Grains export is going on as initially planned, taking into account the 20172018 MY grains gross crop. Now our joint task with market operators is to maintain a balance between the grain export volume and the domestic grains needs,» Sheremeta said while speaking within the meeting.
As to him, as of this year Feb 23, Ukrainian has exported already 26 millions tons grains and 288,000 tons flour.
Reportedly, within the meeting the grains market participants have got acquainted with updated standards for grains and specifics of some phytosanitary procedures used for the grains’ export from Ukraine.
