Consumer Protection Service Chairman, business representatives discuss foods export/import legislative changes

As of last week, within the meeting with the participation of over 25 members of the the American Business Association, Volodymyr Lapa, Chairman of the Ukrainian State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, and members of the American Business Association discussed the legislative changes within the procedure for export and import of food products (in part., sun.pell) and the state of development of legal acts concerning the implementation of the Law of Ukraine «On State Control over Compliance with Legislation on Food Products, Forages, By-Products of Animal origin, health and welfare of animals», Government Portal reports.
As to the report, the participants discussed issues that are of greatest interest to business representatives regarding the process of harmonizing domestic legislation with the EU norms: the difficulties and prospects of implementing the «one window» system. Besides, the Association representatives talked about the experience of using this system for customs clearance, the order of export of food products to other countries and a number other issues.
As to the report, Lapa admitted that the Service is now elaborating the agreement of the veterinary certificates for the Ukrainian import and export of food products. Thus, within 2017 and this year first few months, Ukrainian State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the competent authorities of foreign countries have agreed 19 forms of international veterinary certificates for export and 19 certificates for the objects of the State veterinary and sanitary control. Reportedly, the business community representatives thanked Lapa for the explanation and expressed their willingness to participate within further discussion of legislative changes and draft legal acts.
