Odessa region agrarians harvested 1.723 mn MT grains

24.07.2006 12:35 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of Fri, Jul 21, Odessa region agrarians have harvested 1.723 mn MT early grains, reported Ivan Panchyshyn, Deputy Chairman of Regional Agrarian-Industrial Complex Main Department (Odessa Regional State Administration).

As to Panchyshyn, grains have been threshed at 670,000 ha ( 65% total planned); grains

average yielding capacity is 25,9 metric centners per ha.

«Reniysk district has already completely finished grains harvesting. As of now, regional harvesting campaign leaders are Izmail district (grains average yield — 30,1 metric centners per ha), where grains are still to be harvested only at 2,000 ha and Ovidiopol district (yield — 28,6 metric centners per ha), with grains to be harvested still at 4,000 ha. Thus, if everything is O.K., regional harvesting campaign will be ended within 3–5 days,» said Panchyshyn.

As earlier reported, this year Odessa region agrarians are going to harvest 2.27 mn MT grains.

There are 26 districts in Odessa region.
