State Reserve made 3,250 MT butter purchase contracts for 2006 second half

24.07.2006 10:00 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — State Committee for Material Reserves (State Reserve) has concluded contracts for 3,250 butter purchase (to be supplied to State reserves within this year second half), reported State Reserve press-service.

As to report, Committee is going to purchase in total 3,700 MT butter due to its 2006 reserves renewal/replenishment plan.

In 2005 Committee had purchased 600 MT butter (20% from its 2005 reserves renewal/replenishment plan).

As earlier reported, early Jun State Reserve had sold 3,000 MT butter on tenders; Committee is set to acquire same butter volume for State reserves replenishment until yearend.

This year Jan-May butter 72.5% fat output totaled 37,500 MT (down 3.3% as of last year Jan-May).

2005 butter output had grown to 117,330 MT, up 2,945 MT (+ 2.6%) as of 2004.

State Committee for Material Reserves performs purchases of food articles considered strategic.
