Belarus MAZ-SPORTavto racers will take part within the 40th installment of the Dakar Rally
01.11.2017 12:06 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Belarus MAZ-SPORTavto racers will take part within the 40th installment of the Dakar Rally, Belarus Radio says referring to BelTA report.
As to the report, just like within the previous years, the race will see three Belarusian crews. The rally is to take place within South America as of next year Jan 620. The organizers are set to boost the number of high-speed sections which will reach a record-breaking 4,000 kilometers. The total distance of the off-road rally will make up over 9,000 kilometers. Belarus will be represented by three crews on MAZ race trucks, which have participated in past editions of the Dakar Rally and in another prestigious race - the Silk Way Rally. Race trucks will be slightly changed: specialists did some extra work with the engines and transmission which caused some troubles during the Eurasian rally raid in summer.
It is to be admitted, the Belarusian team takes part within the Dakar Rally at a regular basis. It produced the best results at the latest race of 2017. The crew led by Alexander Vasilevskiy took sixth place. Each of the three crews made it to the finish.
