Yemen cholera toll is "appalling", UN health agency says

As of now, Yemen deadly cholera epidemic is proving difficult to stop amid ongoing access problems linked to conflict between coalition forces loyal to President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi and Houthi-backed opposition fighters, UN Radio says referring to the WHO (UN World Health Organization) report.
As to the report, the total number of those infected with cholera approaches 650,000.
It is to be admitted, the latest outbreak within Yemen began as of this year Apr; it claimed 2,065 lives so far.
As to the report, difficulties of accessing clean water continue to pose a major health threat within this Arabian peninsula country already one of the poorest countries on earth before the conflict, which had started as of Mar 2015.
As to the report, over half of Yemen health facilities are not open or only partially functioning, leaving at least 15 million people without access to basic care.
