As of today, while on a working trip to Lviv region, and while speaking within the opening of the newly-built school, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said he is confident that Ukraine will become a successful country and will be an EU member, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
«Our common efforts will make Ukraine an EU member and it will come true because, first of all, we believe in it. And we change the state together. We make Ukraine successful,» Poroshenko emphasized.
As to the report, Poroshenko also noted that there are those who do not believe in our country success.
«Just as they didn’t believe when I said that we will ratify the Association Agreement, which was the main demand of the Revolution of Dignity. Thus, within two days - on Sept 1 - we will have a holiday not only because our children will go to school. On Sept 1, the key political document for our state - the Association Agreement with the EU will enter into force,» he said.
As to the report, the President noted that the skeptics also didn’t believe when he said that we will ensure the visa-free regime with the EU for Ukrainians. Petro Poroshenko emphasized that this is not just respect to the Ukrainian passport, to the Ukrainian state; this is not just the recognition of reforms made by Ukraine in the last three years. He reminded that to receive the visa-free regime, 144 reforms have been implemented.
Reportedly, he emphasized that Ukraine must be European, democratic and free. «But the first task now is that Ukraine must be a successful state and Ukrainians must be a successful nation,» the President stressed.
